We are The Schulz Family and Hampton is our 7 year old little warrior. Hamp was diagnosed in September of 2018 with a stage three Clear Cell Sarcoma tumor of the right kidney. In the first days of diagnosis, we were in a complete fog of the unknown and not knowing what to expect. God held us in His strong hands as we loved and cared for our little boy during 9 months of rigorous chemotherapy and radiation treatments. As Hampton went through treatments to become healthy, we met some of the most special people that we now call very good friends. It’s amazing how the Lord works in us during the most severe storms of our lives.
Hampton is now a thriving first grader at New Providence Elementary School. Hampton has been cancer free for almost two years now and his family continues to give back to others going down the same path as they did. Hampton’s mom, Jennifer, is in the beginning stages of starting a non-profit called “Hampton’s Hero’s” that will deliver gift baskets of fun to children on the blood and cancer disorder floor of Prisma Health Children's Hospital. These gift baskets will help assist the children during their stay. The Schulz family also provides support to parents who are willing to talk. They offer support to them with prayer and just being present, as they know all too well the emotions and stresses of what it takes to help fight alongside your child going through cancer treatments. Look for a link soon for the Hampton’s Hero’s organization!
